Gertrud Huber’s solo repertoire reflects her passion for Alpine folk music. In this time of transition in musical taste, this has assured her a special niche among performing artists.
Her innovative approach to very diverging kinds of music makes it only logical that she has enhanced this basic repertoire with music from the Renaissance and Baroque, with jazz, contemporary and even popular music, and with New Music. She plays with impeccable virtuosity and with an inherent understanding for the specific kind of music she is performing.
Harp Solo
Gertrud Huber performs a great deal of the repertoire associated with the traditional Alpine harp.
Along with masterful performances based on the standard repertoire for concert harp, she devotes special attention to the Tyrolean folk harp, an unusual instrument with "surprise potential" in a variety of musical styles.
